Darkness ruled the runways at New York Fashion Week, with designers on retreat from the bold colors and color-blocking of seasons past. All-black ensembles is the rule, not the exception, for fall 2013, with Kaufman Franco’s tough but posh separates a particularly strong example of the possibilities afforded by varying textures and materials — aged and embossed leather, quilting, velvet, wool, jersey and fur.
